Lola MontgomeryMiddays
Since she was 5 years old, Lola Montgomery knew what she wanted to do – radio.
When she was a young girl, she’d entertain an audience of dolls utilizing her mother’s record player and a small recording device for weather and traffic reports.
When Lola was 11, Lola began hanging out at a local radio station while her mom went grocery shopping in town. She formed a bond with the owner of the station – and when Lola was 20, the owner finally gave into her persistance and gave her a job.
Her first job was playing urban and hip-hop music, but in 1994, Lola made the choice to exit the hip hop world and enter her family’s preferred choice of radio listening: Country music.
In 2000, Lola started a One Million Penny Drive benefiting the Albertina Kerr Center in Portland. Within 1 month, over 1,600,000 pennies were collected to benefit abused and neglected Oregon children. She was honored as a recipient of a 2000 Philanthropy Award presented by Senator Hatfield.
From her small-town roots in Central California, to #1 country radio wins in Seattle, San Francisco and Portland, she is excited to bring her warm, friendly and humble approach to listener entertainment to Central Oregon as your new midday air personality
